With Aptos ONE Modern POS, WSS Brings Fresh Energy to Associate and Customer Experiences

Sneaker, footwear and apparel retailer celebrates ‘fantastic adoption’ of mobile-first POS application 

NEW YORK — Jan. 13, 2025 — Aptos, a leader in unified commerce solutions, announced today that WSS has deployed Aptos ONE POS, a microservices-based application that delivers new levels of speed, efficiency and innovation to WSS’ store operations and customer engagement strategies. Dozens of WSS stores went live on Aptos ONE POS immediately prior to the holiday shopping period, with the remainder set to adopt the solution in early 2025.

Based in Gardena, California, WSS is a subsidiary of Foot Locker Inc. and operates more than 140 stores nationwide. WSS offers a vast selection of footwear, apparel and accessories from top brands including Nike, Jordan, adidas, Vans, Puma, Converse and others. Renowned for its neighborhood-focused stores, WSS maintains strong connections within diverse communities.

Recently celebrating 40 years of retail success, WSS is on a growth journey, marked by new store openings in Texas, Nevada, Arizona and Florida, alongside the strengthening of its already significant footprint in California. As part of its expansion strategy and commitment to retail excellence, WSS is embracing cutting-edge technologies designed to meet the demands of today while ensuring adaptability for the future.

During NRF 2025: Retail’s Big Show in New York City, Derba will be sharing more details on WSS’ implementation of Aptos ONE in the Big Ideas session Unlocking Unified Commerce: The Essential Role of Modern POS. The session takes place on Jan. 13 from 12:30 to 1:15pm, located on Level 3, Expo Stage 4.

According to Aptos GM Jeremy Grunzweig, Derba’s Big Ideas session is a can’t-miss opportunity at NRF 2025 – in large part due to the insights and inspiration that Derba can provide.
